What is a Ground

Source Heat Pump?

Geothermal heat pumps, also known as ground source heat pumps, use a loop of buried pipe to transfer heat to or from the ground. In winter, the system draws heat from the ground into the building. In summer, the process reverses, moving heat from the building back into the earth.

The ground maintains a relatively stable temperature year-round, which allows these systems to operate with far greater efficiency than conventional furnaces or air conditioners.
